Quick start

Get started with Eigent in just a few minutes.

Eigent helps you turn context into finished work. Organize your files and related work in a Space, start a Session for a goal, and work through Tasks inside that Session.

The hierarchy is Space → Session → Task. This guide walks you through installing Eigent, choosing a Space, and starting your first Session and Task.

Note

Before you start — Choose a local folder or project folder with the materials you want Eigent to work with. Connect it to a Space so your agents have the files and context they need.

  1. Install Eigent and sign in

Download and install Eigent on your desktop.

Once installed, open the app and sign in to your account.

  2. Open or create a Space

Open an existing Space, or create a Space connected to a local folder. Choose a folder that contains the files, projects, or materials you want Eigent to understand.

    This could be:

    • A product project folder
    • A design or research folder
    • A codebase
    • A business document folder
    • A folder for a specific client, team, or goal

The Space owns this folder and its working files. Sessions organize related Tasks within the Space.

  3. Start a Session and your first Task

In your Space, select New session. Choose Single Agent or Workforce mode, then ask Eigent to inspect your folder and explain what it finds.

    For example:

Explore this folder and tell me what this project is about.

Send the request to start your first Task in the Session. Eigent can help you understand the structure, key files, current state, and possible next actions.

  4. Tell Eigent your goal

In the same Session, describe what you want to achieve next.

    For example:

Help me turn this project into a clear product landing page.

    or:

Review this folder and help me create a task plan for the next version.

The clearer your goal is, the better Eigent can plan the work. Related Tasks and their history stay in the same Session.

  5. Continue with Tasks in your Session

Continue in the same Session to work through related Tasks, or choose New session to begin a different goal in the same Space.

    You can ask it to:

    • Plan the work
    • Review files
    • Generate content
    • Organize information
    • Update documents
    • Help with research
    • Work across multiple project steps

Your Space keeps working files together, while each Session keeps its Tasks and work history organized.

Session controls

Session controls use these labels:

Label Purpose
New session Start a Session in the active Space.
Session name The name used to identify a Session.
Rename session Change a Session's name.
Session details Review Session information and history.
End session Mark a Session's goal as achieved.
Delete session Delete or archive a Session.

Next steps

To continue working with your Space's files in the same Session, try this prompt:

Explore this Space's files, summarize what we are working on, and suggest the next 3 tasks.

From there, continue refining the goal and working through Tasks in the Session.

When to use Single Agent

Run Tasks in a Session with one focused agent.

When to use Workforce

Run Tasks in a Session with a team of specialized agents.
